Part of The Gallery’s collection, this iconic design is inspired by one of William Morris’s favourite natural motifs—the elegant willow. First created as a wallpaper in 1887 and later adapted for fabric in 1895, it showcases diagonal branches and was originally block printed at Merton Abbey. The pattern beautifully balances abstract elements with a soft nod to nature. With trailing willow leaves in pastel golds and cream-toned beiges, it brings a gentle depth and charm to any room. The matte finish gives this classic design a modern edge.

Lovely paper which matched the Dunelm sage matte emulsion. I am a novice wallpaper hanger and the paste the wall technique worked for me. However, after careful wall measurement and a calculation based on the nominal pattern repeat quoted universally by all suppliers of this paper, I cut my first drop only to find that the pattern didn’t match at the top of the roll. I had wanted to cut all my pieces in advance as recommended by the you tube videos I had watched. Fast forward 1hour of remeasurement, recalculation and bewilderment, I finally checked the pattern repeat for myself. It was 26.5cm not 44.5cm. Take home lesson – always measure the pattern repeat for yourself.

This paper is beautiful to work with as well as looking stunning. Paste the wall, a dream, nice a thick, easy to match and easy peasey to cut. Well worth it.
