If you look closely, there are actually two designs in the pictures: one with the birds perched on the branches and the other with the birds in flight. We received the latter — however, the shade’s light bracket is fixed in such a way that it can only be used as a lampshade with the pattern the right way round, or as a ceiling shade with the pattern upside down. We ended up returning it since we wanted a ceiling shade. It’s a lovely product, but probably one that’s better bought in store so you know exactly what you’re getting.

I have just received two 35cm shades for my living room ceiling, after purchasing William Morris Bird and Pomegranate curtains (from another website) and wanted them to match, but unfortunately both shades don’t have any birds on them… just the pomegranates… It looks like the fabric is cut in strips to fit the shade and my misfortune that the strip I got didn’t contain any birds! Not certain whether to return them or not, as do like the design, but quite disappointed and wanted them to match curtains….
